Apple’s Q4 earnings call is happening later this evening, but we don’t need it to know that the company had a stellar period. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have smashed records and propelled the company to new heights, all tonight’s call will do is give us official numbers for just how big the quarter has been. According to respected KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, iPhone sales will best even the most robust predictions.
Other analysts like UBS have said that Cupertino moved 69 million iPhone units during the fourth quarter, but Kuo is adding a few million to those predictions. He claims Apple has actually sold 72 million units, 42 million of which are the iPhone 6, followed by 16 million iPhone 6 Plus units, and the rest older models like the iPhone 5s.
Such a figure would represent a 43% year-on-year growth for iPhones sales and will cement Apple’s position as the smartphone company to beat once again.
